Enhance Your Health
Plant-Based Lifestyle Support on Your Journey Towards Improved Health
Living with type 2 diabetes, heart disease, cancer, or early cognitive decline can be challenging. These conditions, known as lifestyle diseases, are influenced by our daily choices in diet, exercise, sleep, and stress. The good news? We have the power to positively impact our health by eating more whole plant foods and making lifestyle changes.
While genetics can play a role, evidence-based research shows that lifestyle choices have a much greater influence on whether these diseases develop, progress, or even reverse. A certified plant-based coach can support you as you transition to a plant strong diet and make lifestyle adjustments.
The Power of Plant-Based Nutrition
Whole plant foods—grown in nutrient-rich soil and minimally processed—form the foundation of a diet that promotes optimal health. The healthiest diets include:
- Cruciferous vegetables (like broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, kale, collards)
- Other dark leafy greens
- Legumes (lentils and beans)
- A variety of additional colorful vegetables (including mushrooms, onions, herbs, and sweet potatoes)
- Fruits (especially berries)
- Minimally processed whole grains
- Nuts, seeds, and spices.
Though many of us grew up eating animal products (meat, eggs, dairy), scientific data shows they contribute to inflammation in the body, and inflammation fuels chronic diseases. Highly processed foods that make up the bulk of the standard American diet (SAD), also play a role in these conditions.
Success on a plant-based journey can frequently start with small, consistent changes—like increasing fiber intake by filling half our plate with vegetables listed above, or meatless Mondays, or plant-based breakfasts. Many people also benefit from support.
